Our History
It was clear in the early 2000s that communities situated outside of Christchurch were lacking social services. Noeline Allan was employed by the Ministry of Social Development as part of a taskforce to survey, research, report and implement findings. Noeline’s designated area covered communities from Whakaraupō / Lyttelton Harbour Basin across to Wairewa / Little River. As a response from this kaupapa several projects were initiated, including Lyttelton Community House Trust.
On the 16th day of September in 2008, Noeline, along with Rodney Routledge and Murray Laugesen signed a Charitable Trust Deed and Lyttelton Community House Trust officially began providing services and support to Lyttelton and the Lyttelton Harbour Basin communities.
Thank you to Noeline, for the impact your work has made in our communities.
